This week members of our Drone Team assisted in Glascock and Johnson Counties. They surveyed the area taking photographs of the extensive damage from Hurricane Helene. These pictures will aid in getting the personnel and resources to the areas impacted the most. Members of the Drone Team will be going to Jefferson County to perform the same duties. The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office is ready and willing to assist other agencies in identifying most impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Our internet and phone lines have been restored! Thank you to everyone who has helped to get our center back up and running at normal capacity!
——————————————————————————— 🚨🚨🚨Internet outage/Phone lines down 🚨🚨🚨
Our administrative lines and internet access are still down at the 911 center. Therefore we are unable to receive text to 911 messages and general administrative calls. We will inform everyone when those services are restored.
You can still call 911 for an emergency, but for emergency calls only.
Our deputies and other departments are working diligently to help with the aftermath of the storm. It’s all hands on deck to get the roadways cleared. ... See MoreSee Less
As everyone knows we have severe weather headed our way. We are expected to receive strong winds and heavy rain. The wind and rain will likely cause trees/limbs to fall, damaged power lines, power outages, and possible flooding.
•If your power goes out, contact your power company. •If a tree falls on a powerline, contact your power company. •If lines are down, DO NOT APPROACH THEM. •Lines that are down in the roadway, please call 911. •Lines down out of the roadway, please call the power company.
•If a tree falls on the road, please contact the road department over that area:
-City roads via Milledgeville Police Department (478) 414-4000 -County roads via Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (478) 445-4891 -State routes via DOT by calling 511
•If a tree falls on your house or car, call your insurance company. You do not need a report from law enforcement to file a claim for weather damage. If anyone is injured or trapped, please call 911.
If you need a place to seek shelter, New Beginnings Outreach Ministries has opened as a Good Samaritan shelter at 200 Southside Drive SE Milledgeville, Ga 31061.
KEEP OFF THE ROADWAYS: Standing water/debris on the roadways can cause an accident. Please keep driving to a minimum and only drive in case of an emergency.
-If a traffic light is blinking or out, treat it like a 4 way stop. Remember to turn your lights on when raining!
When the storm passes please stay home! It’s highly likely there will be damage to buildings, power outages, and possible debris in the roadways. Please allow time for everyone to get things back in operating order before taking to the roadways again.
If you need assistance for a NON-EMERGENCY issue, please understand that due to the weather we may be unable to send a deputy at that time. Calls will be answered in order of importance. Non-emergency calls may experience a delay of up to several hours due expected call volume. Please be patient, we will get to you as soon as possible!
If at any point you are unable to make contact with an elderly family member, please call (478) 445-4891. We will have a unit do a welfare check on them. Please do not attempt to drive to their residence yourself.
We will do our best to update everyone on the storm to the best of our abilities. Please stay safe and remember to make smart choices.
